General Description
NDSB-201 is a member of the class of nondetergent sulfobetaines, their hydrophilic sulfobetaine group and short hydrophobic groups which prevents them from aggregating and forming micelles.. Unlike CHAPS and other zwittergents, NDSBs are nondenaturing even at 1 M concentrations. NDSBs have been used as protein specific additive that can be used to help solubilize and stabilize proteins at non-denaturing concentrations while preventing protein aggregation. NDSBs are highly soluble in water and aqueous solutions and do not significantly affect the pH of buffered solutions and can easily be removed by dialysis.
